[Tutorial]Index and Exchange Rate Calculation

The index price is calculated based on the weighted average of the latest transaction prices from multiple exchanges. There is an index for every USDT-margined contract. For example, BTC/USDT contracts use BTC/USDT price as index.

The above data and indicator contents may be adjusted in real time according to market conditions, and the adjustments will be made without further notice.

2. Spot index price calculation logic:

a. Obtain the latest trading price and volume of all index constituent pairs in real time.

b. Determine the number of valid exchange data remaining:

>=3, weight the valid exchange data by equal weights (if the price of an exchange deviates by more than 3% from the median of all exchanges, then the price of that exchange is calculated according to the median * 0.97 or median * 1.03);

= 2, weight the valid exchange data by equal weights;

= 1, directly take the price of the remaining valid exchange as the index price;

We use the average of the most recent 1 week exchange rate of the China Foreign Exchange Trading Center as the latest exchange rate. The rate is taken every hour, and the time of acquisition is the whole point of each day (UTC+8), if the data of that hour is not available, then the previous value will be taken. Each time the whole point exchange rate is obtained, the latest average exchange rate will be changed synchronously.
