Today, we are privileged to have a special guest with us, Mr. Mappy, the founder of Wiki Cat, a remarkable crypto project that stands out for its decentralized information sharing approach and its ambitious mission to revolutionize knowledge through blockchain technology. It's an absolute honor to introduce our esteemed guest, Mr. Mappy, and we are thrilled to delve into the vision, technology, and immense potential of Wiki Cat for the crypto community and beyond.
Q1: Can you provide an overview of Wiki Cat and its key features?
Sir Mappy: All right, so Wiki Cat started as an idea from SMC DAO, it was basically a quick introduction to SMC DAO. We are an educational DAO. What we do is we bring people together and teach people about cryptocurrencies. And so we had the community group for a while. We're just dropping videos and we're just dropping, like, research articles. But most times we find out that we always use other people's currencies, so we always use SHIBA, BTC, or ETH. So we wanted to make these classes more personal, we wanted to make these classes more intuitive. So that was the reason why we created Wiki Cat. So it was born out of the idea that, okay, you know what?
As opposed to those teaching you guys about other cryptocurrencies that they are not so close to, why don't we create our own cryptocurrency and then show you practical examples of how this thing can develop from this illiterate idea to where it's supposed to be. Over the course of the year, I've been very lucky that our community members have been fortunate to learn so much about cryptocurrencies. One of my biggest pride is the fact that almost 70% of the people in SMC DAO and Wiki Cat community are just lending cryptocurrencies for the first time. So it's a privilege to have Wiki Cat be a part of that.
So a lot of time we found out that people have no idea of how to buy and sell cryptocurrencies. So the problem of Wiki Cat solving would be education and adoption, because once you can educate people, then they can adopt what you are educating them about. So Wiki Cat is simply a token to teach people about cryptocurrencies and let people understand the intricacies of cryptocurrencies because this is a new and exciting financial system and it's important that we try to get everybody involved. You know we are talking about WEB2, now there's WEB3. So why not just join this revolution?
Wiki Cat is just basically teaching people about cryptocurrencies and just showing people that there's a new and exciting financial system that we should all be on board with because it's transparent, everything that you do is on the blockchain and it allows for a democratic system. So that's basically what Wiki Cat serves.
Q2: how does Wiki Cat differentiate itself from other similar products out there?
Sir Mappy: Often, you hear promises about teaching people about cryptocurrencies, but the actions don't follow through. However, we're proud to say that we've gone the extra mile to educate and empower individuals. Our YouTube channel, accessible through our Linktree profile, features numerous videos guiding viewers on buying and selling cryptocurrencies. We specifically created a video demonstrating how to buy and sell WKC on DigiFinex, applicable to any other token as well. Our commitment is not just empty words; we actively demonstrate the possibilities. To ensure accessibility, we've made these videos mobile-friendly and responsive, recognizing that YouTube is widely available and cost-effective in many countries. This motivated us to leverage YouTube as a platform. While we have plans for physical offline classes in the future, our current focus is online classes, aligned with our budget. We aim to expand and drive adoption further by organizing in-person classes.
What sets us apart from similar projects is our dedication to action. We don't merely make claims; we follow through with tangible efforts. Transparency is another distinguishing factor. Within our community, any member can provide you with accurate listing prices and possess an in-depth knowledge that surpasses other communities.
We attribute our success to the hardworking team, including the writers and everyone involved. We are genuinely passionate about spreading knowledge about cryptocurrencies. As evidence, we are currently leading a listing competition on Git, demonstrating the strength and vibrancy of our community. Not only are we in the lead, but we have a substantial margin over our competitors. This achievement is a testament to our community's dedication and something we should all be proud of.
In summary, Wiki Cats differentiates itself by taking real action and delivering on promises. We prioritize education, transparency, and community engagement, setting us apart from other tokens.
Q3: Could you please explain the technology or interlaying blockchain that powers Wiki?
Sir Mappy: Wiki Cat is not just a coin; it's a token built on the BNB chain. To purchase Wiki Cat token, you'll need to follow a simple process. First, acquire BNB tokens, which are used on BNB chain. Then, you can easily swap your BNB for WKC using the contract address provided on Coin Market Cap or Coin Gecko. Alternatively, you can join our main group where you'll find the contract information. This approach was chosen as we initially started as a tutorial group. While we have plans to launch our own blockchain within five years, we are currently focusing on building the necessary capacity. Therefore, Wiki Cat remains domiciled on the BNB chain for the time being.
To ensure accessibility, we have chosen to list Wiki Cat on reputable exchanges like DigiFinex. This platform, well-regarded in Asia, allows individuals in the region to conveniently purchase Wiki Cat. Therefore, DigiFinex serves as another reliable option for acquiring Wiki Cat tokens.
Q4: how does the token economy work within the Wiki Cat ecosystem? Can you explain it in detail?
Sir Mappy: When we created Wiki Cat, we chose to adopt the meme coin vibe, recognizing its significant role in driving the crypto economy. Memes have a unique ability to attract people to cryptocurrencies, and we wanted to capture that energy with Wiki Cat. We wanted to convey that memes bring fun and vibrancy, while also ensuring there is inherent value in the token. Hence, we decided to embrace the meme coin concept.
Wiki Cat was launched with a total supply of 1,000 trillion tokens. Initially, we released 300 trillion into circulation, while the remaining 700 trillion were made available on the open market. No tokens were reserved for the team, ensuring a fair distribution where everyone had the opportunity to purchase on the open market. Embedded in the contract code is a 2% tax mechanism. Within this tax, there is an automatic bond feature that allocates 1% of each transaction to the bond. These distinctive features define the essence of Wiki Cat today. We incorporated these elements after observing that tokens with large supplies often struggle with bonding mechanisms. Drawing from my experience in the Shiba community, I witnessed significant expenditure on buying Shiba tokens, only to burn them later.
Hence, we decided to implement a deflationary mechanism for Wiki Cat. With each transaction, a percentage automatically goes into the bond, ensuring a sustainable deflationary effect. This approach was designed to provide a more efficient and effective solution, allowing holders to participate in bonding without the need for additional purchases.
In summary, Wiki Cat's foundation lies in capturing the meme coin culture while incorporating deflationary mechanisms through automatic bonding. We strive to create a vibrant and valuable ecosystem that aligns with the dynamics of the crypto economy.
Q5 could you also highlight some recent milestones or new exciting achievements that Wiki Cat has accomplished since its launch?
Sir Mappy: This year has been a remarkable one for us. In January, amidst a bear market, we experienced a mini bull run, reaching an all-time high of $22 million. Currently, we are in a consolidation phase, accumulating for the next upward movement. Coin Market Cap, the largest analytics and data platform, released reports confirming that Wiki Cat is the leading token in Africa. We have also been driving significant trading volumes alongside well-established coins such as Cordao, Shiba Inu, Dodge, and Bitcoin. Our ability to achieve comparable trading volumes to established tokens like Cordau, Baby Dodge, and Shiba Inu demonstrates our strong commitment to our mission as a new entry in the market. Additionally, our performance has been recognized by Dexter's Rank Course, where we ranked highly alongside notable coins like Pepe and OGI. We have documented these achievements on our Medium platform for easy reference.
Furthermore, we have recently secured listings on reputable exchanges. In the past four weeks alone, we have successfully listed on a few notable exchanges. These accomplishments are not to be taken lightly, as they signify our progress and growth. Additionally, we are proud to announce our partnership with Nabox, with more exciting collaborations in the pipeline.
Q6: What are the intermediate goals or upcoming developments for Wiki Cat in the near future that you wanted to share with DigiFinex user?
Sir Mappy: Before listing on DigiFinex, our team took a strategic approach based on the insights provided by Coin Market Cap reports. We assessed our dominance in Asia, where we surpassed tokens like Baby Dodge and Shiba. We also observed our strong presence in Africa, surpassing Baby Dodge, Cardano, and Bitcoin. With these achievements in mind, we formulated our next plan of action.
We decided to focus on an Asian strategy, considering the immense potential and growth opportunities in the region. This decision led us to DigiFinex, a highly reputable and prominent exchange in Asia. Our listing patterns, including DigiFinex and a few others reflect our intentional efforts to expose Wiki Cat to the Asian community. Our current marketing strategies and partnerships are all geared towards Asia as our primary target market. This approach allows us to establish a strong foundation before expanding our presence to North America, Europe, and other regions. Our plan encompasses more than just listing on DigiFinex. We recognize the value of offline events and partnerships that platforms like DigiFinex engage in throughout Asia. We are committed to deepening these connections and fostering meaningful collaborations. We are open to discussing and exploring further opportunities beyond this Twitter Space session, as we believe in building strong and enduring relationships.
In summary, our focus on Asia is a strategic choice based on our domination in the region and the potential it holds. We are dedicated to consolidating our presence and forming valuable partnerships to maximize our reach and impact.
Q7: how does Wiki Cat prioritize security and address any potential risks associated with its platform?
Security is of utmost importance to us, considering the prevalence of hacks and security breaches in the blockchain industry, even among exchanges. We firmly believe that education plays a significant role in mitigating these risks. That's why we prioritize community orientation, engagement, and education regarding various hacking techniques and their prevention. Our efforts extend to producing informative videos and fostering active discussions within our Telegram group.
In our community, we emphasize key security practices, such as exercising caution with unknown links and refraining from interacting with unfamiliar coins. We also advocate for the use of reputable wallets like Trezor or other secure hardware wallets. In fact, we are currently developing our own wallet solution. This decision stems from our commitment to safeguarding the value of our tokens and preserving them within our ecosystem. We have experienced wallet losses and hacks in the past, which served as a driving force behind the development of our wallet.
Security remains our topmost priority. By enhancing education and enlightenment, we aim to empower individuals to protect their assets effectively. However, we don't stop at education alone. We actively invest in developing tools and applications that provide users with a higher level of security. We understand that securing one's assets is crucial for witnessing their value grow over time. Therefore, our focus on security encompasses both education and the development of practical solutions to ensure the safety of our community members' holdings.
Q1: Do you have plans to have an ambassador program later on?
Sir Mappy: Regarding the ambassador program, the decision rests with SMC DAO itself. However, if such a program were to be implemented, it would primarily focus on regions where we currently lack a strong presence. This includes areas like Asia with Asian natives and North America with North American natives. The purpose of the ambassadorship would be to establish a stronger foothold and expand our community in these specific regions. When the time comes to determine the details of the ambassador program, these are the key regions we will prioritize.
Q2: In terms of partnering with other projects, what are some of the future partners you're planning to partner with? And also, since your project is Term, what has been your strategy so far? Mostly in terms of web two users, how would have been your strategy in onboarding them to your project?
Sir Mappy: For future partnerships, we prioritize collaborations that align with our vision and mission. For example, our partnership with Nabox wallets was driven by our focus on developing our own wallet, and we sought their expertise in this area. Education is a key part of our strategy, and we are implementing a content strategy to provide informative resources to our community. Additionally, we emphasize visibility and have pursued listings on exchanges like DigiFinex. In terms of partnerships, we may explore collaborations with educational tech platforms, exchanges, schools, tutors, and content creators that align with our goals and provide mutual benefits.
Q3: can you tell me more about some of the plans you actually have on actually onboarding more users? Do you have any promotion to actually make this more easier for the project?
Sir Mappy: To onboard more users, we have conducted initiatives such as a shilling contest, where the community was encouraged to promote the project on various platforms. Exchange listings are also part of our strategy to increase visibility and accessibility for users worldwide. Our content and educational strategy involves creating informative videos to raise awareness about Wiki Cat. Community activities, research articles, and offline events like the Lagos Tech Fest have also played a role in attracting new users to the project.
Q4: is there going to be a striking feature for Wiki Cat tokens? Because this will actually encourage more users to actually hold the token and elsewhere and rewards. So is this going to be possible on Wiki Cat?
Sir Mappy: The implementation of a staking feature for Wiki Cat tokens will be considered once we have achieved a stable market cap. We want to approach token distribution strategically and avoid excessive token release in the early stages. Currently, the tokens we have are being used to actively list on exchanges. Once we have completed our exchange strategy, including listing on reputable platforms, we can explore staking options. This decision will also take into account the trading volumes on different exchanges and the potential profitability of implementing staking. We may even develop our own staking platform in the future, but our current focus is on completing the development of wallets.
Q5: what are your plans to Cross chain? Like? There are many new blockchains coming right now like Arbitrum and Polygon. So are you able to integrate in this blockchain also in future?
Sir Mappy: When it comes to crosschain integration, we have reservations due to the potential confusion it may cause among our community members regarding different contract addresses. Therefore, we have made a firm decision to stay on the BNB chain. While we may explore other projects within the SMC ecosystem that are Ethereum, Cardano, or Polygon chain-based, Wiki Cat will remain exclusively on BNB chain.
A prime example of this approach is Shiba Inu, which initially launched on the Ethereum chain and has remained dedicated to it. Before opting for BNB chain, we thoroughly evaluated our options and determined that it would best serve our goals. While we appreciate other blockchains like Ethereum and Reddit's blockchain, maintaining Wiki Cat's native presence on BNB chain is crucial to prevent confusion and avoid potential scams.
For instance, during my exploration of the Cardano blockchain, I discovered a hiccup contract that was not associated with our project. Such multichain issues can give rise to fraudulent tokens. By establishing ourselves as native to the BNB chain, we ensure clarity and maintain a trustworthy identity for Wiki Cat.
